Crafts

One other thing that I enjoy is hording… ah I mean re-using…of course that’s what I meant! Haha, silly me! I hord--er..collect items like old tiles, bottles, frames, fabrics, and my favorite paper. Here are some of my creations from these little treasures!
Antiqued wine bottles! I remember doing this in summer camp, and I think they are great for any season and/or decor.

5 Dollars: wine= $4.99 (rest of materials I had at home)
5 Items: wine bottle, masking tape, shoe polish & sponge
5 minutes: It took maybe 10 minutes to tape it all up...

Step 1: Find a nice wine bottle- and clean it up as much as you can. (no need to take really scrub it thought)
Step 2: Starting from the top, start ripping little pieces of the masking tape, and overlap the pieces a bit on the bottle. They do not need to be exact size or shape. I find the more random you slap them on, the more "rustic" it looks!
Above is a picture is my sloppy handy work!

Step 3: Once the whole bottle is covered you will want to take you sponge and dab it in the shoe polish. I picked brown polish but any color would do, whatever you prefer.
Step 4: Once you have a good amount on the sponge start to rub (starting from the top) the polish into the masking tape. You are going to have to "re-fill" your sponge once in a while, and at this point you will see what I meant about the "rustic" look. Continue this until you get the depth of color you want, and thats it! You're done! That was simple enough, right?
